French Antique Charles Perron Art Nouveau Venus Handle Vase Cherub Putti Angels Charles Theodore Perron was a revolutionary artist, far ahead of his time in his creation of beautiful sculptures. This vase was made in the 1800s. It's amazing to think that you can still hold in your hand a piece of art that was held and made by the hands of Charles Perron. This piece has a lovely maiden holding onto the edge of the pitcher for a handle. It may be Venus or possibly Amphitrite, the ocean Goddess. Imprinted in the rest of the scene are mischievous cherubs riding giant fish, swimming in the ocean, and catching fish with their hands. There is a lighthouse in the background. There are also seahorses, and sea shells. It is signed CH Perron. It is hard for me to tell what the original color was. There is some damage.on one side. There is the slightest indentation and a scrape. I bought it this way. If the pitcher was originally a silver color, then, removing the darkened color would reduce the cosmetic impact of the scuff. If it is supposed to be dark, then recoloring it, would be a good fix. Please enlarge those photos to see what you think.
