A lovely hand crafted unique piece of art by Eva Englund in Nybro Municipality of Pukeberg Sweden for Pukeberg Glasbruk.
This is dated to the 1970s and showcases the textured Scandinavian style that they are known for. The edges are different for each piece as the artist lets the glass free flow outside of the mold during cooling.
Formed into the glass are depictions of cheese and vegetables (cucumber, tomato, turnip) and inscriptions of foods. They read:
Shampignon = champignon (mushroom)
Camembert-Tiger = camembert cheese bowl melted in a river bread
Eidam, Emental, Gouda all types of cheeses
These foods all prominent in European cuisine particular Swedish and Czechia
Condition is good with some light surface scratches on the piece from use. Please see pictures for condition of this. No cracks or chips. Width at widest is 13”
Great charcuterie piece for displaying gourmet cheeses, veggie platters, fruit arrangements and/or meats
