This is Napier's version of the famous panther brooch owned by the Duchess of Windsor, a 1949 Cartier design of a diamond & sapphire panther sitting on a 152.35 carat star sapphire cabochon that was set in platinum. This brooch is marked Napier (founded 1915) and is from the 1980s. The approx 2.25" goldtone pin depicts a big leopard type cat with white and black rhinestone & enamel spotted body and two black eyes, sitting on a 1-2" round black enamel globe.
