1902 Antique Silver Reynolds Angels Christening Belt, Baptism Belt, Baby Belt.

For your consideration this beautiful Very rare Victorian Christening / Baptism belt from 1902. Made by H M Silversmiths in Birmingham England. weight is 96g / 3.4 oz. measures 63.5 cm / 25" . With the 2 buckles measuring 7 x 5.6 cm  each and the 6 smaller sections measure 4 x 5 cm. This exquisite solid sterling silver belt has 8 large ovoid sections, all decorated with angels inspired by Sir Joshua Reynolds famous painting 'Cherub Choir'. This belt is a perfect gift for your little angel on his/her Christening and a beautiful family heirloom.  A superb addition to a fine antique silver collection. Ideal for a High end Photo Studio too. Please see photos for more detail and marks. As is standard for English Sterling, each section of the belt bears the Lion Passant sterling guarantee for 925 silver and the year mark.  The year marks and makers marks etc. are on the buckle, HM , Anchor ( Birmingham) date letter C, and Lion Passant.  This very rare piece is all original, unlike a few discovered pieces around the world it was not filled in to give it more weight. This is how it was made, with the hollow back.
