Antique Meissen Rare Yellow Cherub Boy Birds Cage Birdcage Elements Air 1850 Vtg This is one of the earliest Cherub Boys with Bird cage in the elemental series. He represents the earthly element Air. He is very very hard to find in yellow due to the scarcity! The lovely angel, with the wind blowing through his hair is holding 2 birds, one is bluish gray and the other is brown and is trying to put them in a reticulated white and gold porcelain cage, but you can't catch the wind, so he is having a bit of a challenge. We have taken many many pictures with different lighting and from every angle. He is in excellent condition but has a tiny nick on the underside of the bird cage (pictures) but it can not be seen unless you look from the bottom. He is in remarkable condition, considering he is 170 years old. This is a series called the Four Elements, an angel playing with Meissen's little bird. You can almost feel the "wind" from the angel's (even though it has no wings) hair and cloth. Colors are Cream, White, Yellow, Gold, Gray and Brown He is marked with the 3 swords and has a number incised and one also impressed.
