Can you verify that this item runs large, especially across the Chest? Normally I wear a size large because my bra size is 36/38D

Of this jacket measures 28” across laying flat, so 56”?!?
I am now turning towards this size medium.
What is the measurement of the chest from armpit to armpit if you don’t mind me asking.
