Royal Blue Gold Bronze Strewn Flowers” pattern, Germany, 20th century. Inspired by the German Baroque and Rococo periods.
The pieces are hand painted on porcelain with opulent 23 karat gold on the high relief of the ornaments and borders.
The “B-Form” shape was created between 1844 and 1855 by Ernst August Leuteritz, B-Form being a reference to the original mould shape. Strewn Flowers is a beloved decorative motif of Meissen porcelain, originating in the Biedermeier era. The natural beauty of the flowers and blossoms depicted were from Germany; an artistic choice to move away from emulating Asian designs. The porcelain painters had three dozen blossoms to select from and they created different combinations of flowers on each piece.
