emiwhite_1 Hi, this is a recast? If so, it would’ve been produced in the 1980-1990s right? Based on the details on the feet and modern base I don’t think this is one that was produced in the 1880s.

emiwhite_1 Also, the older ones were made with a wooden base, this has a modern marble base. Definitely not from 1880s.

diningxdecor @emiwhite_1 This statuette isn't an original; caution is advised when dealing with sellers claiming otherwise. Most are held in private collections. The piece is an antique from the late 19th century, not a contemporary late 20th-century creation as mentioned in your comment. Re-casts from that era typically lacked an original base, and buyers were responsible for mounting them on their preferred materials such as marble, wood, or metal.

diningxdecor @emiwhite_1 A statue's base often underwent changes over time, influenced by wear and evolving decor trends. The marble base with a bottom blue felt liner was introduced during the postwar era, specifically in the late 1940s to early 1950s. I do hope this information proves helpful.
