Three Rivers Pottery was owned by Rebecca "Becky" Lowe who died in 2016.
In tribute to her mother, her daughter said her mom is best-known for her "hand-thrown, hand-painted pottery. I think that's definitely her legacy. ... She was very much a craftsman and very good at what she did."
A friend, who had known Lowe for more than 30 years, said he most admired "her creativeness," whether it was through her art, putting together a business model or decorating a space. He credited her with having "true entrepreneurial spirit," and said that even when she failed "she pulled her britches back up" and got going again.
So, offered here is a pottery piece by a creative, strong, determined woman who succeeded in her art as a potter, as a mother, as a friend, and as the top booster of Coshockton, Ohio.
It helps me to have an emotional attachment and a renewed appreciation for a work of art when I know at least some of the artist's story.
Please view the pictures carefully.
They not only describe this stoneware better than my words can, but it also shows the dimensions of the crock.
