It's not like those flimsy, 1 nanometre thick garbage bags that trap heat and look like a rubber. This wind vest is made with sturdy fabrics for the front panels, yet conform to your body. It's also water repellent. When it gets hot, the back mesh panels help dissipate the heat. The back side has two slots so you can reach into your jersey pockets for your phone or snacks, and a flap covers over top to prevent rain from getting in. Another zip pocket in the middle of the back panels for your valuables like keys, rings, and card holders (can fit an iPhone XS sideways). High neck collar to get full wind coverage unlike other low profile gilets. Soft fabric on the inside of the neck panel to limit abrasion. Rolls up and packs nicely into a jersey pocket. I love this thing.
