This is a vintage Knox New York genuine Panama hat, purchased at Merritt Schaefer & Brown in Austin TX, known for fine men's wear. I believe this hat belonged to my grandfather and it doesn't look worn. The name and address label was not filled in and is tucked in along with the size label of 7 1/8. It looks to be a unisex style, worn by a man or woman. It has a slim black ribbon. The hat has been stored in the original hat box. The hat box isn't labeled Knox, so I'm not sure if it's Knox or from the store, but I can include it. The box itself has some damage - label is crumbling and some marks from tape or something else. The hat itself is an excellent condition. Straw Panama hat, size 7 1/8", exact year is unknown - likely 1950s or 60s (the store was opened in 1941 based on my research).
