EUC RARE Vintage Larry Mahan’s Boot Collection Men’s Gray Elephant Triad Cut Cowboy Boots; size 410 (10 D); handmade in Texas. Leather is in great condition with no tears or splits (piping does show minor wear/cracking). Leather outsoles, pegging & heel caps still have plenty of life.
Larry Mahan’s Boot Collection was the earliest LM brand, produced in the 1970s under the Hyer Boot Company. These elephants in triad cut are rare to come by, especially in this great condition. These handsome gray on gray boots show a subtle hint of blue in the shaft stitching. Typical of this vintage, the boot shafts are on the narrow side, making them perfect for those who wanting to avoid printing/bucketing in their denim/slacks. These will make an excellent addition to any gent’s wardrobe.

hi, it's Ray. can you educate me about the tony lama black label.what is the real actual era the black label came out. you talk about this on a pair of sea turtle that a seller has for sale.you remember that conversation?so if you had to guess ,when were those sea turtles boots (black label built)?60's? , 70's?
konacopia
@ace004 from my understanding, sea turtles became banned internationally on 7 species of sea turtle in 1981. So pre-ban sea turtles boots produced by the major brands like Justin & Tony Lama were produced in the ‘60s or ‘70s, especially with Algonquin toe style that was popular in the ‘70s.
konacopia
@ace004 As for Black Label & Gold Label product lines, collectors have been referring to the Tony Lama boot models with the “Tony Lama” patch sewn inside the shafts. There are different eras of these patches…one used during the ‘60s-70s, ‘70s-80s, & then during the ‘90s.
