Vintage 1980’s Drama in an Extraordinary Sheer Silk Robe: There are two ways to wear this: Out / over a simple black slip gown with spaghetti straps as a dramatic evening coat or In / over nothing at all. The shape is a simple straight cardigan style coat that hangs straight down from the shoulders to the floor. It is open all the way down the front. The front opening is cut in subtle scallop shapes hemmed with black glass bugle beads 3-deep all along the front opening and around the bottom hem. This beaded edge acts as a finishing edge to keep the chiffon fabric from unraveling. The neckline has a Nehru collar that is backed in solid black silk. The sleeves are simply cut long set in sleeves. The wrist edgings are finished in the same way as the front edging and hem with black glass bugle beads. Entire robe is over embroidered with black thread in a chain stitch pattern used to create all over curling vines with tiny glittering attached black shiny glass bugle beads. You do not see the thread as it is under the beads . Then The entire robe is embroidered with green sequin leaves and bright pink sequin flowers. The center portion of each flower is made with a cluster of tiny round seed beads. The Nehru collar is also embroidered with similar, but smaller flowers. The label in the back of the collar says Roaman’s. Measurements: Shoulders are 16” across. Length of Robe is 61" from shoulder seam to hem edge. Several hook & eye closure down front.
