Classic red hair, red and white striped faux socks and artistic faces. Outfits are like new. Raggedy Ann has on a white embroidered overall tie back dress over a yellow checkered dress with a ruffled poet style neck. Andy has on a matching collared shirt with brown overalls. The originals have a patent stamp on it that reads, “Sept. 7th, 1915”. Original RA doll also has a wooden heart on the torso that reads, “I love you”. Measures approximate: H- L-28” W- W-7” Book is The Raggedy Ann and Andy book by Jan Sukas, illustrated by Ruth Guhman and Gavy. Book also has No flaws. Published by Golden Press. Original book is by Johnny Gruelle from 1918 with adaptations in 1941. RA doll was inspired both by a poem by Indiana Poet, James Whitcomb Riley and his daughter Marcella who died from a vaccination. The original patent called for all cloth bodies, button eyes, painted faces, brown yarn hair, pantaloons, a pinafore, striped legs and black cloth shoes. Condition is amazing.
