I bought this at Magpie Vintage in Portland Oregon. When I bought it years ago it was listed as being from the 1930s. It has no brand and looks handmade. Rich black velvet fabric, no fading or burnouts, some pictures I lightened so you can see and appreciate all the beautiful ruching and details, but this is a rich black. Vintage-y industrial metal zipper (that still works), covered over by a ruffle of black velvet to blend in and has hook and eye closures to secure it all the way down. A place in the skirt that looks ruched, not sure if it's intentional or a flaw, looks intentional because it matches the ruching in the bodice that gives this classic some dimension. Velvet straps that feel like a seamless continuation of this beauty. Small hole on the seam on the back skirt. An easy fix. But that's basically the only issue with this gem and that's pretty good for as old as it is. Great weight. Would probably best fit XXS or smaller XS. Worn once for a theme party, Would be great for a theme party or a costume or just to feel beautiful this holiday season or maybe even for high school dance season. Channel Ginger Rogers at your prom or your holiday party or be the dark mysterious beauty at a theme party. On trend with current films like Amsterdam, Babylon and now the Haunting in Venice
