This is an amazing find! This carries a sticker: 1889 Paris / Berkeley, CA…this is obviously a reproduction piece that possibly was featured in the Paris World’s Fair years earlier than this produced piece. I’m guessing this is ca1940’s. The spring is very tight - enough to clip a handkerchief, picture, postcard and a small notecard is shown. The base is inlaid Mother of Pearl.
