Here's something you really won't see every day. This Roman-era ring (about 100 to 300 Common Era) was made to open a jewelry box--or to look as if it would open a jewelry box, as owning such a thing was a mark of high prestige.
The base metal is bronze, and the ring has been restored, buffed, and given a 24 K gold plating and sealant to make it wearable for a modern person. Great for all lovers of history and the avant garde, goth looks--well, I think it goes with just about everything.
The band is 2.9 mm wide, though width does vary a bit. Size is 6.5.
Comes with a certificate of authenticity from the company that refurbished it. The certificate says it's a 6.75, but my mandrel measures it as 6.5, as shown.
Thank you for looking!
