Bates Leathers (aka Bates California) vintage Competition black leather motorcycle jacket. My dad bought this new around 1990 and took excellent care of it. It is in absolutely beautiful condition. Black leather. Yellowish-green Bates logo lining. Size 44. The Bates Leathers Competition jacket that started it all. “Built to really take it. Great for track, street, or sport wear. Features a smartly tailored mandarin collar with snap-button neckband and zippered sleeves.” Front zip. Four zip pockets. It has my father’s name (J. Allen) on the tag and lining. My dad replaced the original zipper pull with leather strips, but kept the original brass pull.
