Did you know that sellers can buy fake LV locks in BULK ?! They pay $20 for a counterfeit and mark it up to $120 or $250 or more! Astonishing! And SAD. I’ve recently come across a bunch on this platform- saved myself from a lot of heartache and loss💰 Please do your research- Authentic LV locks are so good because they’re unpickable! They feel like it too. Weighty, solid, sturdy and TIGHT. Just like the genuine LV bags, the details are impeccable. The engravings are deep and very specific. Be cautious of sellers that only show the the front of the lock. All of the main details are on the back. Nothing should be faint or fuzzy or crooked. Not even a little bit. Dead giveaways are “Made in Paris” instead of “Made in France”, the font will be off- especially the “O”s, the “R” will be in the wrong spot, the key will be a different color than the lock (silver locks have silver keys, gold locks have gold keys), even the lock # needs to match that era. The brassy gold color can be tarnished but not “bubbly” or overly shiny, like costume jewelry. The color should look deep & rich. Not flat & cheap. Can you tell which ones above are fake and which ones are real?😬If I had a real life example of a fake one, I’d show you. But you can also ask me! And I’ll tell you what I learned. Be safe out there!
