This botanical tote features VTG American watercolor art of blooming Calochortus clavatus wildflowers, a flowering perennial herb species in the Lily family (Liliaceae). The flower blossom petals are depicted in varying shades of yellow, brown and deep purple surrounded by green leaves. It's native and limited to California. Common names also include club haired mariposa lily and slender mariposa lily. A similar species is the Calochortus concolor that goes by the common name golden bowl or goldenbowl mariposa lily.
