Sir Walter Raleigh Wood Sculpture A Tarheel Masterpiece By Thomas A. Williams and Joe A. Paget, Sr. This fascinating booklet is about the wood sculpture of Sir Walter Raleigh completed by Bob Harniman in North Carolina. He carved the statue from a cypress tree from the Tar River swamp which had begun growing in the year 1467, eighty-seven years before Raleigh was born. Harniman carved the statue in Raleigh, NC. The statue was moved to Roanoke and then taken down, and no longer exists. A unusual piece of NC history! In fine condition. 24 pages. See photos.
