This cork press is in excellent condition. It may or may not have been actually used.
Cork presses were used in the 1800's by pharmacists to compress corks in medicine bottles.
This press has four press points in various diameters.

@markcoyle334 Found this: Based on what a cork press generally does (it compresses corks to make them easier to insert into bottles), a "Darvocet cork press" might refer to a cork-compressing tool used in pharmaceutical or apothecary settings (i.e., for bottling medicines). In older pharmacies, medicines were often bottled in glass vials sealed with corks; a cork press would compress a cork so it would fit tightly in a bottle's neck.
