For your consideration is this lovely sapphire and diamond cocktail ring. It is marked with Vargas Manufacturing Company's "V (inside a horizontal elongated diamond)". According to Costume Jewelry Collectors Online Repository, this mark was introduced in 1947. I'm uncertain how long this mark would have been used. This company was located in Providence, Rhode Island and was in operation from 1945 until 1996. Along with that mark, it is marked "GE" for Gold Electroplated. There is a number before "GE" that I can't quite make out, but believe it to be 18K as many of their other pieces are marked as such. The band fits a size 5.25 and is 1.78 mm thick. I believe all the stones to be lab created. The twelve clear stones register as diamonds on my Diamond Selector (very low setting). The are approximately 1 mm round. The pear shaped sapphire measures 9.3 mm long x 6.76 mm wide x 2.12 mm deep. All stones are pronged. Absolutely gorgeous ring. Mark Information.
