For your consideration is this lovely vintage ring. It is marked with an Arrow going through a "U". According to the US Trademark Office, that mark was registered by UNCAS Manufacturing Company of Providence, Rhode Island in 1949 (first used in 1920 and applied for in 1947). At one point in time, UNCAS was the leader in manufacturing fashion rings in the US and touted in a newspaper article as producing "Dime Store Diamonds". The stones are hand set in prongs. There is a single simulated Star Sapphire (most likely glass) in the center. Its oval shaped and measures 8 mm long x 6 mm wide. Surrounding the main stone are 10 clear round cut chaton stones, most likely Zirconia (failed diamond test), measuring approximate 3 mm in diameter. I've tighted the prongs, but those stones still seem a little loose. Observed under a loop is one broken prong. Also observed are micro-abrasions that can be seen under a magnified lense. The metal is silvertone and the purity is not indicated on the piece. It is adjustable and will fit from a size 5.5 up to a size 9. Great looking piece that will definitely pass as a high end ring on your finger.
