IF STATELY AND DIGNIFIED IS THE ORDER OF THE EVENING, YOU'LL SET THE STANDARD IN THIS FULL-LENGTH SILVERY-GRAY FORMAL SPECIAL-EVENT/OCCASION (MOTHER OF THE BRIDE?) GOWN BY VERA WANG, FROM HER WHITE LINE. It's pre-owned, but in near-perfect condition, no defects, damage, or signs of wear. In classic fit-and-flare style, it consists of a close-fitting off-the-shoulder backless bodice with built-in stays joined to a widely flaring full-length skirt. It further consists of an outer shell of a sheer, light, net-like material (similar to tulle but not as stiff) over a lining of lustrous gray fabric. Ruching at the bodice seam creates pleating in the upper part of the skirt. The bodice has deep diagonal pleating. (Note that the bodice is hip-length rather than waist-length as with most fit-and-flare dresses.) The gown is supported by straps of the same light net-like fabric as the outer shell of the gown that tie behind the neck and hang down the back (picture #9). It closes with a clasp and zipper in back. The label (picture #12) calls the color stone, but most people would just say gray. The fabric is 100% polyester, hand wash and line dry recommended. The stated size is 6, but prospective buyers are encouraged to compare the measurements with those of a dress that they know fits well prior to purchase. Measurements are: chest (pit to pit) 16.25"; waist (9" below the neckline) 14.75"; flare (hemline) 82"; length (in front, neckline to hem) 53.75".
