Described as “pop-psychedelic kitsch modernism,” German illustrator and artist Gisela Gottschlich designed “with all the colours and sense of optimism greatly intensified.” Gottschlich more popular works were children’s illustrations, such as those for Grimm Fairy Tales. “None of the darkness (of the Grimm brothers), are allowed to shadow the candy-coloured surface,” according to a review of Gottschlich’s work.
