This item does not have any foul odors, and it comes from a pet free and smoke free home. Flaws are all noted in the photos, pointed out with arrows, and they include the following: a 1cm section of stitching on the second layer of stitching coming loose on the front by the Patagonia logo, and in a few small spots on the back. This could easily be fixed if you find some matching thread. Other flaws include a slight discoloration on the front in the middle, a tiny stain on the back shoulder, and a small white stain on the cuff. All very minor, barely noticeable. If this wasn't a bit too small for me, I'd keep it, as it's a gorgeous color.
