Beautiful box looks to be made approximately mid century or a little later in Japan. Lid is stunning with the combination of red enamel to set off the gorgeous, multi-petal flower (chrysanthemum?). Embossed decor has elegant scrolling designs around the sides. It has an old style velvet, cushioned interior that is a bit dusty. Piece is in excellent vintage condition. Lid is secure. Hinge works perfectly. Box may be silver plated. It has a touch of tarnish and wear to the finish. Measures approximately 4.25”Lx3”W
