VTG Mexico 950 silver bracelet pre-Columbian Mixtec Maya Revival MCM Chavarrieta

This dramatic wearable art evokes ancient pre-Columbian motifs found in a renewed appreciation for indigenous craft in early 20th Century Mexico. Silversmiths like Chavarrieta created beautiful jewelry that represents a proud and ancient culture. Roman Chavarrieta (R.CH) was an important silversmith for Emma Melendez, and his better pieces come onto the market infrequently. This exquisite bracelet is in perfect, vintage condition with its original, hand-made safety chain, and is clearly marked “Taxco Mex”, “950”, “R.CH” and has the eagle 3 “bell” mark (the eagle 3 mark identified the city of origin as Taxco).
