A darling vintage 1930's - 1940s soft body pillbox fascinator with the most dazzling floral design. Black and pale pink (light salmon) felt material, likely wool. Two multi-petal flowers with stamen extending. No brand tag. Designed to be worn in various positions, including on top with flowers extending forward or on the crown of the head for a halo effect, centered or tilted to one side for jaunty effect. Hats of this type and era were generally affixed securely with pins (hat pins or Bobby pins attached to the grosgrain ribbon lining). SIZE: Tag marked “22”, which is about 7 - 7 1/8 or Medium. Inner measurements are 7 1/4” L by 6 7/8” W. outer measurements are 10 3/4” (with flowers extending) by 8 1/4” at its widest (6” W toward the back). CONDITION: In good vintage condition with some expected wear consistent with age. Please see all photos and feel free to ask questions. Specifically: * The coated wire-like “filaments” each have a fracture point and wear—they haven’t broken off, but could be repaired to curve more smoothly, if desired. * The pink areas of the hat could be cleaned more throughly to brighten up * There are also a couple places where some black thread is visible on the underside of the petals (not visible when worn).
