This vintage haori jacket is in very good condition. The semi transparent fabric is called a “sha” 紗 or “saori” 紗織, which is very similar to “ro” 絽, and can be worn for semi formal occasions, such as tea ceremonies. It is traditionally considered menswear, but I believe this kimono will also make a classy womens or unisex jacket. It is woven in a pattern that reminds me of waves or tree rings. Material unknown (possibly silk), but feels coarse, almost canvas like, typical of sheer fabric made of natural fibers. Do not machine wash. No odors, rips, or stains.
