Vintage Mayan Clay Pottery 7 Circle of Friends Votive Candle Holder Large

Vintage handmade clay Mayan Circle of Friends sculpture/votive candle holder "The Circle of Friends legend started with the Mayan Indians. The clay votive or tealight candle holder casts shadows, when lit, to emulate dancing. The interlocked arms are symbolic of the bond shared by close friends." Measures approx 9" wide & approx 7" tall. The candle holder is approx 3.5" wide and about 1.5" tall. has one chip on one of the finger concaves and one crack on the bottom. Still has melted wax in the holder. This unique piece is splashed with earthy tones and has a rough surface for primitive appearance, with a dirt like finish around their feet. No two are exactly alike! This is one of the LARGE ones. Considered to be a pre-Columbian art form, the figures are often made to have the style and look of ancient Mayan or Aztec Indians.
