This botanical tote features VTG American watercolor art of blooming Tradescantia virginiana wildflowers, a perennial flowering plant in the family Commelinaceae. The flower blossom petals are depicted in varying shades of purple, violet, lavender, white and yellow surrounded by green leaves. It's native to the eastern United States and is commonly grown in gardens and found growing wild along roadsides and railway lines. Some of its common names include dayflower, flower-of-a-day, Job’s tears, snake-grass, spider-lily, trinity, trinity-lily, and widow’s-tears. The Cherokee and other Native American tribes used common spiderwort for various food and medicinal purposes.
