Artesania Rinconada Pekingese 101 Dog Figurine Hand Carved Uruguay Artist Signed

This Pekingese by Artisania Rinconada is a retired piece made between 1978 - 1995. Made in Uruguay. Artesania Rinconada is a phrase meaning Corner Art as the brothers who began this company in the corner of their living room. Each subject is carefully hand-carved and detailed from fine grain earthenware ceramic material then, after it’s initial kiln firing, decoration continues with the hand application of enamel colors and glazes used to accent and highlight individual design characteristics. Each enamel glaze must be re-fired individually in order to preserve it’s distinctive coloration. Condition is very good with just a couple of flea bite sized chips as shown in the last two photos.
