This taxidermy butterfly is a Madagascan Sunset Butterfly Moth (Crysiridia Rhipheus) & it’s expertly mounted, encased in plastic so you can view the splendor of this magnificent insect from all angles! Signed by the artist in the back, it belonged to a loved one, & has been around at least before the middle 1990’s, which is when I was introduced to the family. Measuring 4” square, it’s a unique view on this splendid green, blue, yellow, black, lavender & orange iridescent beauty! The case is equipped to hang as wall art in addition to sitting as a free standing display piece! In amazing condition, the large sized butterfly is pristine. The case has a small crack on the top worth mentioning, but it’s smooth to the touch, so it may be just from the surging of the plastic together to encase the fella, please view last pic. Butterfly taxidermy has always been a hot decor piece, as it is amazing for so many aesthetics from boho to Victorian, to granny cottage core to jungalow!
