Vintage Clem Wilding Original Nuthatch Bird Carving, Audubon Art, Ca: 1960s. This is a wonderful little Nuthatch bird carving by the renown Missouri carver Clem Wilding. Clem Wilding started carving in 1954 by advertising in the Audubon magazine and did not stop until his death in 1989. He carved a variety of wildlife but was noted by his birds. There is a museum in Hermann, Missouri that has a number of his carvings on display, and there is also a book on his work. This is an original carving and not a replica. This little guy has wire legs and is stamped on the bottom; "Clem Wilding". Color: Gray, white, black and brown, Condition: Excellent vintage condition.
