A Boszorkány György Szántó
Borbála Tötösi, the little blonde servant girl, learned the secrets of medicinal herbs from her mother, but she does not help patients by reading them, like the butter women, but with real knowledge. He studies with great effort to learn about the structure of the human body. Accompanied by her young husband, the writer Dávid Szamosközi, she travels to Padua, and at the university there, dressed as a boy, listens to the anatomy lectures of one of the world's first dissecting physicians, the Flemish professor Vesalius. In his homeland, Hungary, which was divided into three parts, he used the best scientific methods of the time to heal those who came to him, but the enemies of progress lured him into a trap and sentenced him to death at the stake. The novel commemorates the uncompromising Hungarian heroine of science.
