VTG Rare Telephone Cord Purse | Butterly Design | Faux Tortoise Handles | c 40s

This listing is for a vintage telephone cord purse. This one is -- dare I say it? -- rare! I have searched for hours and have only been able to find one other like it (see last pic... it's only an example. Unfortunately, I don't have that one). This bag has faux tortoise shell handles (lucite, perhaps, but not bakelite... I tested with Simichrome polish, and it was negative). The telephone cord is black, and there is a picture of an upside down butterfly with swirls on a fishnet pattern. So bizarre. So unique! Measurements are in the photos. Condition is used with signs of age and wear, including some scuffs to the cord (pictured) and scratches on the handles. The bag has some wonky feeling spots as if the stiff inside lining is bent. (Does that make sense? You can kind of tell in the picture of the back side). Please examine all pics as they are a part of the description. Sold "as found" and will need a good cleaning.
