Vintage 1950’s Glentex Faux Pearl 5-Strand Choker, Necklace, Glass, Peter Pan

Vintage 1950’s five-strand faux pearl choker necklace mounted on satin lining. Made by Glentex in Japan. Each pearl strand has gradually decreasing sizing and various levels of clarity- some almost translucent and some with an ochre coating which gives piece interest and dimensionality. It has four beaded Pearl tassels that adds movement. It can be worn with tassels in back as a typical choker or with tassels in front- reminiscent of a Peter Pan Collar. It holds together with a hook clasp. Size: Fits 13.5” circumference neck- smaller fit typical of sizing from the 50’s. There is no stretch or give so please measure your neck. It can also be used as a collar liner and then size wouldn’t be too important- you’d have to come up with a pinning mechanism to pin to your clothes or connect to another chain.. Condition: Good vintage condition. Pearls had luminous coating that has worn off some of the strands- but this doesn’t detract from the look IMHO. The stain lining and Glentex label are all intact. This is a fragile piece and I recommend storing it flat and in shape in some acid free tissue paper. Satin has aging toning. NPK-1(psh)(mer)
