Vintage ART signed gold toned brooch by Mode-Art faux pearls & rhinestones rare

This vintage “ART” signed gold toned brooch, by Mode-Art is fully embellished with faux pearls and rhinestones. It can be worn as an adornment or on a coat or purse, to clasp an open shrug or cardigan together, on a collar or hat. It's in excellent condition. The clasp is fully functional, and it shows little to no signs of wear. Mode-Art Jewelers: Art is a trademark of Mode Art Jewelers, founded by Arthur Pepper. Mode-Art was founded by Arthur Pepper in New York, New York, around 1950. While Pepper used the MODE ART mark on some jewelry, most of the pieces produced by his business are marked ART. The presence of a copyright symbol after the mark indicates manufacture after 1955. Mode-Art continued to produce a wide range of affordably priced costume jewelry through the 1970s. The business is said to have closed around 1980. Styles made with the MODE ART, or ART marks vary widely, but many do have Victorian or Renaissance revival influences in their design elements. Egyptian revival designs come on the market occasionally, as well. Approximate measurements are in the pictures.
