Florida Highwaymen were African American artist who started in the 1950s selling their art work on the highways of Florida when they were denied access to art galleries and retail outlets. Mostly formally untrained, they painted bright idealic Florida scenes on board for tourists. This gorgeous Florida beach scene was done by Highwayman Johnny Stovall. It's in excellent condition. The colors are clean and bright. Approximately 8 x 10 without frame. The original frame has 2 small dings but are not noticeable. Own a piece of American history!
