Footed cup- wheel thrown- faceted- trimmed. Special technique to get textured foot ring. Genius potter artistry. An iron rich special stoneware high fire clay- beautiful! It becomes thise chocolaty browns & deep red hues in the special salt &wood fired process. Yielding a unique & one of a kind piece- utilitarian art :) This ceramic cup can go in the microwave & dishwasher- but do not thermal shock it with actively boiling water. Great for tea or juice or liquor with ice or what not- add to your art collection. Lined with a traditional amber celedon glaze. A yellow green iron colored glaze. This is is considered a ‘second’ bc it has a small crack in the foot- but its fully functional. Handmade ceramics like this are incredibly hard to create & we get firsts & seconds from the firing process- both are sold & fully functional. This was made by Eric Hendrick in Undergraduate at University. He was great at unique faceting & you will see more of his unique pieces added to my listings. I am selling my ceramic art collection.
