frerdcassity Check "Cloudy Nights" astronomy blog. Small article about a purchase in 2013. Very similar to the Meade 2045. Made in early 80's in Japan

frerdcassity 2 months ago, I purchased a Meade 2045 with same accessories and exactly same aluminum case for $175 (including shipping). The 2045 is the same 4-inch tube with a heavier two arm fork mount. Thes vintage units have ok optics but require manual aiming. Good for big stuff like the moon, Venus, etc. Also, kind of cool to just display in a man cave. Sending an offer.
