Based on the Historic 1918 Statue - now featured in the Metropolitan Museum of Art - by Artist James Earle Fraser, the Bronze Cast immortalizes the extreme hardships endured by the Indigenous People during the colonization period.
A weary Native American on horseback is portrayed in these iconic mid century bookends "The End of The Trail", which is also inscribed on the base of the bookends. The Bookends measure approximately 4"ht x 4"w x 1-1'2". For a relatively small pair they're deceptively solid and weighty. They're in good vintage condition with a rustic patina consistent of pre-owned pieces of their nature and time. Highly functional, they also speak of a salient and poignant time in history.
