Louis Vuitton teamed up with the non-profit organization (RED) to craft a new candle in support of the fight to end AIDS. The Louis Vuitton I (RED) candle has been created by the house’s master perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, and its design was led by Marc Newson. The hand-cast white ceramic container features leather handles and a red metal disc top, which houses a candle that is inspired by the color red. Cavallier Belletrud has selected the finest-quality natural ingredients for the candle’s smell, which evokes the notions of love, freedom, warmth and purity. He achieves this by blending sweet, peppery and floral notes of peony with raspberries, which according to Cavallier Belletrud “has a strong universal character and with a real sense of liberty.” He added, “I started with a peony flower accord which has a pronounced character through its highly floral elements with hints of spice, wood, and fruit. It is a perfume in itself.”
