@tabithadavis573 did you see the posh news about doing a Live Show training? sponsored by posh? it looks like they have dates for virtual training all through February. I'm reserving my spot! if you can, you should too!
Feb 06Reply

bjsstylehertz
@kareynascloset I reserved my spot for one of Posh's sponsored trainings! it'll be after my show, but that might be the best thing cause I can compare how things went with what I learn in training!
Feb 06Reply

tabithadavis573
@bjsstylehertz please help where do i go for that
Feb 06Reply

bjsstylehertz
@tabithadavis573 it's under the news tab in the app. there are rotating news announcements that always pop up at the top, and the link to reserve a spot is one. if you don't see it, keep refreshing the tab or hitting the "news" button until it cycles through. they are likely also announcing it on the official blog.
Feb 06Reply

bjsstylehertz
@tabithadavis573 it looks like brandlive is the supporter for the event, so let me see if I can get you other info in case that notification doesn't pop up for you
Feb 06Reply

bjsstylehertz
oof, never mind. it's an invite only thing. so if you don't see it at the top of the news page, you might not yet have an eligible account 😕
Feb 06Reply

tabithadavis573
@bjsstylehertz I got it
Feb 06Reply

tabithadavis573
@bjsstylehertz I will do on. I need help on how to creat flyers
Feb 06Reply

tabithadavis573
i guess i have 30 min Live show on Friday.
Feb 06Reply

bjsstylehertz
@tabithadavis573 oh awesome!!! congrats!! I have a listing in my closet for that specifically to make custom fliers for people, but, what specifically are you looking for help with?
Feb 06Reply

bjsstylehertz
@tabithadavis573 and I think you flier looks pretty good! it's got more info than mine do ☺️
Feb 06Reply

tabithadavis573
@bjsstylehertz i dont really know i never done this before
Feb 06Reply

bjsstylehertz
@tabithadavis573 me neither, but I have direct sales and marketing/retail experience. and I've done work fliers since I was a kid. have you neen watching other live shows? to see what others do and get a feel for what you like and don't like about their shows?
Feb 06Reply

tabithadavis573
@bjsstylehertz i have watch some. i didn't see a flyer
Feb 06Reply

bjsstylehertz
@tabithadavis573 I think just as many people who run fliers also don't run fliers. I think it all depends on your strategy for how you advertise your show. different people are comfortable with different things. in kost of the share shows, I see people running fliers, but in the solo shows, I don't
Feb 06Reply

bjsstylehertz
so it probably just depends on how you build your following. I know I'm bad at consistency and networking on social oriented platforms like posh, so I knew when I got my notification to schedule my first live show that I needed like at least a month to connect with people and market myself. some people feel ok to schedule it that same day! or the next day! so I think it's all about your comfort level, and that's what others who do regular shows have told me.
Feb 06Reply

bjsstylehertz
u can jump in and slowly build a following with consistency, or you can do lots of pre-planning and market yourself well. but the point of the flier is to let people know when you are going live. so they like it and get a notification.
Feb 06Reply

tabithadavis573
@bjsstylehertz its going to be a learning experience for me. Biggest fear not making sales. And also being in front of a cam.
Feb 06Reply

bjsstylehertz
ugh, I'm typing comments and they aren't going to u as a "reply" just a heads up
Feb 06Reply

bjsstylehertz
@tabithadavis573 I hear ya. I haven't been on camera this way before either 😅 but, I did have someone ask me if I wanted to cohost a share show with them, AND some people will bring you on their shows when it's a share show and they run your item! so I've done that once and it's a great way to practice! I'm not too nervous about not selling anything, because I'm setting my expectation to NOT sell a single thing.
Feb 06Reply

bjsstylehertz
@tabithadavis573 I'm going to do my best, but, sales are not the only thing that measures your success. you'll be great! have you watched youtube trainings? @kareynascloset told me about them! she's been a great posh mentor to me!
Feb 06Reply

bjsstylehertz
@tabithadavis573 so, maybe u need a cohost! a veteran to help u out!
Feb 06Reply

tabithadavis573
@bjsstylehertz how does that work
Feb 06Reply

tabithadavis573
i watch a lot of YouTube videos.
Feb 06Reply

tabithadavis573
@bjsstylehertz how does that work
Feb 06Reply

tabithadavis573
@bjsstylehertz they sent something saying do a 30 min show .i was thinking o my I'm not ready yet for this lol
Feb 06Reply

bjsstylehertz
@tabithadavis573 while watching shows, find someone who's style you like, and who is friendly and gives u clues that they might be open to cohosting or posh mentoring, or just ask them in the chat! talk to them enough that you feel you can trust them to cohost with u, or, in silent shows, talk with the host enough that u feel comfortable, and then ask them!
Feb 06Reply

tabithadavis573
@bjsstylehertz ok friday im doing that 30 min show not much time
Feb 06Reply

bjsstylehertz
@tabithadavis573 I don't actually know the mechanics of it yet since I haven't started my own show. but, since my shows are share shows, I'll be inviting people on to show their stuff if they want, so it's like cohosting. I know there's a button to let others go live in your show, and I know the host has control to switch them off. but I think the best thing to do is watch others do it, and decide whether or not that's what you want to do.
Feb 06Reply

tabithadavis573
@bjsstylehertz so do i have to do that 30 min live show
Feb 06Reply

bjsstylehertz
@tabithadavis573 u absolutely do not have to I don't think. I know you can cancel shows, so if u don't feel ready yet, I wouldn't do it. if you want to watch more shows, feel things put some, share to my show and practice by coming on to show your items, that could be a good way to get your confidence up! and find others who let you do that! like @cdpgranny she's consistent, super nice, and sometimes invites people on to show their listing. there are some others who do too
Feb 06Reply

tabithadavis573
@bjsstylehertz i really like her i should give it a try on hers .
Feb 06Reply

tabithadavis573
its only 30 min show give it a shot why not lol.i work a lot of hours so she's on all hours of the night lol..

Feb 06Reply

bjsstylehertz
@tabithadavis573 right?! she's Great!
that's the spirit! go for it!!
wow! a whole pallet sounds awesome! I'm not brave enough to do that yet. but I'd love to! maybe one day
Feb 06Reply

bjsstylehertz
@tabithadavis573 and yeah! 30 minutes is like tipping your toe in 😁. i don't understand how some people do the all day long shows. there's no way I could! I can't even watch shows all day. lol
Feb 06Reply

tabithadavis573
@bjsstylehertz all day seems a bit much lol.im a cna work a lot so no time to go all day like that' who knows i might take off. yea a pallet I'm brave like that Tho lol
Feb 06Reply

kareynascloset
@tabithadavis573 How much does a pallet cost of you don't mind, and where are they buying these from? What does one do with the leftover items that didn't sell? Keep trying to sell them? I don't understand it all. Thank you 😊
Feb 06Reply

tabithadavis573
@kareynascloset i live in utah i get them here in ogden just for small stuff new products 549.00 for big stuff its 700 to 1200.check your state or town google search on them.
Feb 06Reply

bjsstylehertz
@tabithadavis573 That's great! I've always wanted to try reselling a whole pallet! I thought if I get successful enough with posh, maybe I'd try a wholesale purchase and open the boutique end of the closet. I've also always wanted to go on one of those pallet acquisition sites! I hope you do really really well! I'm very busy on Friday, but I'll look for your show flier and watch my notifications to try to catch it!
Feb 07Reply

tabithadavis573
@bjsstylehertz thank you
Feb 07Reply

kareynascloset
@tabithadavis573 Thanks I was just curious. It is not my wheelhouse at this time, but good information to know! I will go and like your flyer for alerts! I might stop in and see what you have!
Feb 07Reply

kareynascloset
@tabithadavis573 What kind of items are usually in palettes? Are the palettes usually from local stores that they advertise to sell off just to be rid of inventory?
Feb 07Reply

tabithadavis573
@kareynascloset I haven't gotten a pallet yet . but its all new stuff shelf pulls and stuff
Feb 07Reply

tabithadavis573
@kareynascloset thank u soo much
Feb 07Reply

tabithadavis573
@kareynascloset I'm working on saving money for one I'm trying to build inventory to sell.
Feb 07Reply

bjsstylehertz
@kareynascloset I can't wait until I can get a pallet! most of my stuff comes from doing home clearouts. I get paid to do the clearout, or I do it for free for friends and family, and I sell whatever I think is in good enough condition. and I do sourcing, but I don't spend alot of time on it. If you have enough capital, You can get pallets directly from the companies! but places like liquidation.com also sells pallets
Feb 07Reply

bjsstylehertz
@kareynascloset there are tons of ways to go about it, and some info videos you can find on n youtube about reselling by buying pallets, but if you have a tax id and register your business, you can do alot. without a tax ID auction, online auction, and local deals I think ate the only consistent ways to get them. I see them on Craigslist and marketplace though.
Feb 07Reply

bjsstylehertz
@kareynascloset people who have a business and tax id will purchase, inspect, and sometimes sort, then advertise on there to resell. but then you have to be more careful
Feb 07Reply

kareynascloset
@tabithadavis573 I understand that. It costs $ to make $!
Feb 08Reply

kareynascloset
@bjsstylehertz That's a great idea doing hom clearouts is that similar to home organizing help? I know a gal who organizes for people, and that will include getting rid of lots of stuff!!
Feb 08Reply

tabithadavis573
@kareynascloset your right takes money to make money. we have local people here to buy pallets from. I feel like every thing takes time to do.
Feb 08Reply

bjsstylehertz
@kareynascloset yup! almost exactly, except it's usually for me a basement, a spare room, garage, or storage unit that someone wants to be completely emptied so they can reclaim the space or stop having to pay for storage. it's often because a family member died or someone was evicted
Feb 08Reply

bjsstylehertz
@kareynascloset with enough of the jobs that are organizing only, people want living spaces cleared out and decluttered like a bedroom, kitchen, gameroom, or living room. you can get more valuable stuff that way without a bulk of unsellable things, but I prefer to have the bulk. it also doesn't take as much time so it's quicker money
Feb 08Reply

bjsstylehertz
@kareynascloset I've also had people not pay for the clearout before, and when what I get is more bulk, or more value, it makes up for it better than spending days tidying and only having a box or basket to show
Feb 08Reply

bjsstylehertz
@kareynascloset but, I also didn't have appropriate storage space and shop square footage, so it became way too much. i have waaaaay too much stock now. so I'm not doing clearouts or organizing atm. but the Business I started doing it under is called Trash Panda Hauling. I have a website
Feb 08Reply

kareynascloset
@bjsstylehertz That sounds like a pretty good business. You are a resilient, young lady!
Feb 08Reply

kareynascloset
@bjsstylehertz It's hard to sift through a family members stuff after they passed away. We did that with my parents after my step-dad passed away, not fun and time consuming!!!
Feb 08Reply

kareynascloset
@tabithadavis573 Yes, but it's worth it if you find the right things to sell and that are in demand.
Feb 08Reply

bjsstylehertz
@kareynascloset 💖 aw, thank you!!
it so is. I've been very fortunate in that I have lots of experience doing this with others, but I've never actually had to do it for a family member of my own in my immediate family yet. And I don't live in the same state they do and am the oldest of our bunch. so, I'm probably going to be dodging bullets when it comes round to it.
