Vintage Japanese Noritake Lusterware Iridescent Cream and Sugar Set
This beautiful vintage Japanese Noritake lusterware creamer and sugar basket set is hand-painted with iridescent paint, with a light blue/lavender background and a multicolored design of a house with trees, lawn, and garden on the front, and clouds and minimal landscape on the back. The lusterware paint surrounds the entire pieces on the inside and outside, except the bases. The inside of both items is white lusterware iridescent paint.
There's a red backstamp with "M" in wreath (for Morimura brothers), "Noritake" above, and "Handpainted" and "Made in Japan" below, dating this dish to between 1921-1942, but most likely from the 1920s or 1930s.
I'm guessing that the sugar basket held sugar cubes, as opposed to loose granulated sugar, given its shape and no lid.
Dimensions: The sugar basket is 5.25 inches long, 3 inches wide, and 4 inches high. The cream pitcher/creamer is 4.5 inches long, 1.75 inches wide, and 3 inches high.
The condition of the set is very good. There are no chips or cracks. There are only a few very minor scratches to the paint that are hardly noticeable. See video for clearest images of the very minor scratches.
All my items are packed extra carefully to prevent damage.
