fawnmango Hi! Please don’t get offended, I am just curious why the price is $500? Thank you

buyitwhenfound @fawnmango the numbers 315 and 448 are counterfeited a lot and prevalent on every website. If it lacks “made in France” it isn’t authentic. If it has an ancillary “hole” next to where the key enter the base, it is counterfeit. Our locks have not been used. They are either brand new in box with two keys, or NWOB new without box with two keys - we’re calling them Pre-owned at that point. (More)

buyitwhenfound @fawnmango when our buyers requested we order them, I initially, our long time supplier sent us a box of “random locks.” They were ALL 315. We tried to authentic them and they all failed. We opened a return and our supplier opened a return. It seems, funny business happened up stream with his supply company. We purchased authentic locks. Authentic locks are made of palladium, not silver, and retail for far more than counterfeit or brass.

fawnmango @buyitwhenfound you seem very knowledgeable. I totally believe all the ones labeled #315 are not authentic. Crazy how many fakes there are for these locks! I only have the “gold” tone ones that have come directly from LV from bags/keepalls I’ve purchased and really want this color one day! :)

buyitwhenfound @fawnmango on Poshmark, $500 is the “magic” number that says, we as the seller stand by our product and guarantee it is authentic as it will be sent to posh customer service to be authenticated in person for free. If it was listed at $499, it would NOT receive this service. We hope this explains why we chose this number, as it also helps us recoup our cost we paid for them upfront. We are NOT making money on these as we pay posh 20% on each sale. (More)

buyitwhenfound @fawnmango if the buyer pays full price, we also supply an LV gift bag, LV gift box and gift wrap it as well. An estimated value starting at approximately $50 (could be as high as $100). If we can answer any other questions, please let us know.

fawnmango @buyitwhenfound I wish I could picture what you mean about the ancillary “hole” meaning it’s not authentic. I’m seeing lots of #315s that are clearly fake (not sold by you of course I just mean in general) but they don’t really have an extra hole. Also is the made in France rule only for the palladium? Must be right because I have a gold one from Alma bb that I bought directly from LV that doesn’t say that.

buyitwhenfound @fawnmango think of a child’s lock from school. Or a lock on a door with a pick hole if they lock themselves in their room. You purchase a small metal rod with a loop on the end to loop your finger through while trying to “pop” their door lock. The fake LV locks sometimes have these holes in them as the counterfeiters engrave locks and decorate them to look like LV locks.

buyitwhenfound @fawnmango keys for authentic locks can also be faked, look at the shape of the top of the key. If it’s “squared,” it’s a reproduction key. And 9/10 times, a reproduction (counterfeit lock).
