NORTHERN TISSUE Frances Hook Vtg FRAMED w/ Glass Prints Iconic Advertising Art

Dimensions: 14" high x 11" wide This vintage iconic print comes in a vitnage brown frame with protective glass. The collectible print is in pristine condition, having been framed for many decades. The artwork is ready to hang as framed and would look great in a nursery, young girl's room, bathroom or anywhere your heart desires! History: In the 1950s, a company called Northern Tissue created an advertising campaign for their white and colored toilet paper. They commissoned artist Frances Hook to draw, in the soft chalk pastels, a series of gently smiling children who often snuggled with something soft, such as a puppy or flowers. The series of artwork was collectively entitled "Amerian Beauty Portraits" and became so popular that Northern Tissue started selling prints from the series to the public. This print is known as "Girl with Soft Kitten." She appeared on the packaging for the "mist aqua" (blue) toilet paper (see photo) and with the following line in her advertistements: "Softness--more than I can speak.
