Made in the 70s, this truly awesome platter is made to hold eggs in all of those little wells about the rim. And, I've actually eaten a number of those eggs for I love deviled eggs AND this plate belonged to my Aunt who loved to bring fun snack treats to a family event.
This dish fits 15 eggs if you cannot count them fast enough :)
The center of the dish I cannot tell you what the specific use was for, but in my family there was a dish full of tiny dill pickles or olives that went in there. Sometimes crackers and cheese would appear in there too.
There was an Easter that my Aunt had colored hardboiled eggs set around and some in the center - its really a cool display dish to display food items!
The glass is an awesome golden amber color and is very very thick so have no fear about this being some delicate glass. The bottom has my favorite detail - hobnail which are all the fun raised dots and such that give detail AND provide a wonderful grip to when its set down.
The glass is in PERFECT condition & if not enjoyed as a serving dish it is an amazing display item. The sun glowing thru it is really amazing,
